First Flight improved to 14-0 with the victory. Tarboro finished its season at 17-3.
"Overall I was pleased with our play. The girls had a great strategy and forced First Flight to change their style of play. We put ourselves in a position to really compete for this match, but First Flight was able to execute more consistently and earned the win," said Tarboro head coach Billy Strother. "Julie Hayes was really outstanding in her match, but came up just short. Shayla Thorne and Sarah Grady also played exceptional matches."
Tarboro finished second in the Eastern Plains Conference and the won the EPC Tournament for the fourth consecutive year. The Lady Vikings were ranked #10 in the final regular season 2-A poll.
